Issue Teams
Climate Justice Team
The Climate Justice Policy and Project Team strives to have a meaningful impact on the climate crisis through education and engagement in actions on climate and environmental concerns, especially those close to home. They bring together the wider community, group members, and other local climate-focused organizations to work toward our objective of a more sustainable planet.
Health Justice Team
The Health Justice Team are activists working on state and federal health policy, and focusing locally to build a strong coalition of health justice advocates. They demand the right to quality, affordable health care for every person who calls Minnesota home by striving to enact an improved and comprehensive Medicare for All at the state and/or federal level.
Immigrant Rights
The Immigration Rights team educates advocates and the wider community about our complex immigration system and our rights under the law. They seek to protect these vulnerable people from attacks, scapegoating, detainment, and deportation without due process.
Action Teams
Creative Action Team
The Creative Action Team seeks creative and joyful ways to advance the pro-democracy movement. They regularly organize protests against injustice and corruption and for a future democracy that works for us all. They conduct public readings of the Declaration of Independence to emphasize the nation’s founding principles.
Protest/Rally Team
The Protest/Rally Team demonstrate their dedication to the pro-democracy movement by gathering every other week and on mass mobilization day in defense of democracy.
Postcards & Zines Meet Ups Team
The Postcard and Zines Team meet 3 times monthly to write postcards.They select an issue and write to voters and/or members of Congress or state or local government leaders to influence elections or policy. They prepare and distribute zines – a small book with messages for thought and action.
Media & Corporations Team
The institutions of the nation – its pillars – are essential to the functioning of government. They can resist erosion of their purpose and power, and maintain their independence and integrity or capitulate to the demands of an authoritarian regime. This team exposes and calls those out who capitulate.
Political Action Team
This team engages in a process to identify candidates who share our values and who are worthy of our endorsement and our support. Once endorsed, the team will encourage our advocates to donate and/or otherwise help these candidates get elected.
Organization Support Teams
Leadership Team
The leadership team determines the direction of the organization, setting vision, mission, goals, and priorities. The team coordinates projects and provides support to help the teams achieve their goals. The leadership team works closely with other Indivisible groups and participates in actions with Indivisible National.
Communications Team
The Communication Team helps St. Croix Valley Indivisible realize its vision and accomplish its mission by increasing awareness of each. The team uses effective communications to engage and recruit advocates, partners, and community allies.
Technology Support
Provides technology support for St. Croix Valley Indivisible, including member database maintenance and reporting, application integration, website and domain maintenance, and updates.
Monthly Meeting Committee
Plans and executes monthly advocate meetings in coordination with the leadership team.
Other Support Functions
Financial Affairs
The treasurer is responsible for ensuring the organization’s fiscal health while upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability. The treasurer prepares and distributes fundraising reports for Indivisible National and SCVI.
Administration Support
Attends leadership meetings, takes notes, and distributes those notes in a timely manner.
Events
Plans and executes organizational events in coordination with the leadership team.
Outreach
The Outreach Team meets with people who have expressed an interest in learning more about St. Croix Valley Indivisible. They conduct one-to-one or small group meetings to form relationships, welcome and onboard new advocates, answer questions, and find a comfortable role for volunteers.
Coalitions & Partnerships
Washington County Democracy Team
The team works in partnership with local chapters of League of Women Voters and We Choose Us to advocate for free and fair elections and reduce the influence of money in local elections.
Health Care for All Minnesota
The Health Justice Team is a health justice ally of Health Care for All Minnesota and supports their initiative to adopt a single-payer health system in Minnesota.
Immigrant Defense Network
The Immigrant Rights Team collaborates with the Immigrant Defense Network to defend and support the rights and freedoms of our immigrant neighbors.
