Choose For the Climate: A Great Success

Forty St. Croix Valley residents turned out on August 23 to learn about the federal Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA’s) generous tax credits and rebates for electric cars and energy-efficient electric appliances that will incentivize American citizens to save money on energy bills and lower their carbon emissions from fossil fuel.

Due to the extreme heat warning, SCVI changed the location of its public meeting about using the IRA to cut home energy and driving costs while lowering carbon emissions. The information-loaded meeting and one-year birthday party for the IRA was held in a Boutwells Landing meeting room rather than outside at Autumn Hills Park nearby. The message that climate change is affecting our lives now could not have been clearer.

The tax credits and rebates are just getting started and will be around for years to come. There’s plenty of time to make plans to take advantage of them. Here are the resources that were given out at the event in August.
