Are Republicans trying to keep the Trump administration immune from court rulings? It looks that way!

Tell your senators to take a stand against the “No Contempt Clause”.
The No Contempt Clause – tucked into the Budget Reconciliation Bill recently passed by the US House – limits the courts’ authority to hold government officials in contempt when they violate a court order. The bill, with that provision, now goes to the Senate for consideration.
Without contempt power, judicial orders are meaningless and can be ignored. Decades-old landmark rulings relating to civil rights, voting rights, and gun control could become effectively powerless.
There is no way to understand this except as a way to keep the Trump administration from being restrained when it violates the Constitution or otherwise breaks the law. The Senate should reject this effort to limit judicial power.
