May Day: Nationwide Boycott

Now, more than ever, our collective economic power is one of the most effective tools we have. May Day is our voluntary day for a nationwide boycott. By choosing not to work, shop, or tune into these broadcasts, we demonstrate the true economic strength of the people.

May 1st: National Day of Action

May 1st is a voluntary day of action across the United States. Under the banner of May Day Strong, we are asking everyone to demonstrate the "economic strength of the people" by:

  1. Not working (where possible)

  2. Not shopping

  3. Demonstrating in your local community

Trump National Doral (PGA Tour): This weekend, April 27–May 3, 2026, the PGA Tour Cadillac Championship will be hosted at Trump National Doral. For those who enjoy watching golf, please be aware that this event directly benefits the administration's properties. It will be broadcast on: CBS, Golf Channel and Paramount+.  Consider tuning out during this tournament window to lower viewership metrics and send a message to these networks and the PGA regarding their choice of venue.

Our democracy is not for sale. Keep up the pressure, stay committed, and let’s make our voices heard through our wallets.

While a total boycott of every complicit corporation is a monumental task, remember that perfection is not the goal -- impact is. Even a 50% reduction in your spending with these companies sends a clear message to the current administration and its financial backers.

New Additions to the Boycott List

We are expanding our focus to include four additional companies whose recent actions directly support the current administration's agenda:

  • Walmart: Beyond significant partisan contributions to Republican-aligned groups, Walmart has notably begun rolling back key DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives following recent executive orders.

  • Marathon Oil: A major donor to the 2024 campaign and the current administration. A Marathon-affiliated company recently faced FEC scrutiny regarding improper political spending and federal contractor regulations.

  • Microsoft: One of the primary tech giants to back the administration’s new construction projects, including a $1 million donation to the 2025 Inauguration Fund.

  • Reynolds American: This tobacco giant has been identified as a heavy financial supporter of the administration’s high-profile federal construction and infrastructure projects.

We will continue to provide regular updates on the effectiveness of these efforts. Please share this information with your networks -- every dollar diverted is a step toward reclaiming our democracy. Full list of "Who to Boycott"

In solidarity,

SCVI Boycott/Corporations/Media Team
